Democratic legislators from the Arizona House of Representatives planned a meeting Tuesday to discuss improving the tone of the immigration debate.

The Anti-Defamation League said it would present a report documenting how hate groups are focusing on immigration.

Experts were expected to discuss how elected officials and citizens can advocate public policy without resorting to fear and hatred.

The meeting came after Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Rep. Bill Konopnicki received threats linked to their actions on legislation dealing with illegal immigration.

The meeting was open to the public and was slated to begin at 8 a.m. in Hearing Room One at the House of Representatives in downtown Phoenix.

Gov. Janet Napolitano was expected to attend.
